Screening Showcase is an annual filmmaking project launching in June 2012. Amateur Shorts presents Screening Showcase, an annual filmmaking project, aimed to provide any creatives aged 18+ the opportunity to gain experience either in front or behind the camera, and the credible experience needed for bigger jobs in the filmmaking industry.
Running for 6 months from July to December 2012, Amateur Shorts aims to bring people together to collaborate on making a film each month, exploring various areas in film and genre and current anxieties in society.
JULY 2nd - 30th : the Narrative Drama
AUGUST 1st - 29th : the stereotypical “Hood” film
SEPTEMBER 1st - 29th : Animation
OCTOBER 1st - 29th : Gothic Horror
NOVEMBER 1st - 29th : the Silent film
DECEMBER 1st - 29th : Documentary

: this is a project concerned with offering credible opportunity and experience as a stepping stone, aimed to help dismantle and break down the barriers put up around aspiring filmmakers and actors getting their foot into the door of the film industry through the exposure we offer at our Q&A networking screening event at the end of the project, in front of industry professionals.
Each month consists of 4 weeks

The project is freelance and flexible, meaning you can take part during any week(s)/month(s) between July and December.

This September, London hosts a Week of Peace. After the buzz and high from the community spirit brought on by the celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee back in June, and the recent events of the London 2012 Olympics…let us continue these exhibits of peace towards one another.

Fantastic meet this evening for our London Riots themed film for August’s run of the Screening Showcase project.
To give you a quick 411 on the film, it’s gonna be a short sweet piece including elements of spoken word, freestyle rapping & talking heads.
